Family Health and Sports Injury Clinic
YOUR FIRST VISIT
Doctors of chiropractic are neuromusculoskeletal experts and are trained to assess, diagnose and treat neurological, muscular and joint related problems. The doctor will also have a special interest in all factors which may be related to your primary health concern in order to treat your health problem effectively and to prevent any recurrence of it. In order to obtain a complete picture of your health, our doctors will require a detailed health history and will perform a thorough examination of the body region involved. They will then suggest an appropriate treatment plan with you or refer you to an appropriate health care provider if your specific problem is not within the normal chiropractic scope of practice. In this way, you will receive the best and most effective treatment possible. For these reasons it is important to plan to spend up to one hour on your first visit to Village Chiropractic.
What to Expect During Your First Visit:
Initially, our chiropractors will take a detailed history of your specific health problem and will ask a number of questions which will help them to determine a diagnosis. The doctor may ask about the following:
TIP: Wear comfortable clothes and shoes for your visit to the chiropractor.
Our chiropractors may perform some of these tests:
TIP: Bring a copy of any recent X-rays you might have had taken.
These assessments give our doctors a better picture of your complete health and will enable them to make an accurate diagnosis of your health problem. If our chiropractors diagnose a problem that may be better treated by another health care professional, they will make an appointment referral. Otherwise, our chiropractors will focus on the specific cause of your health problem or pain and treat it appropriately.
The first visit will also include a treatment if deemed appropriate. A treatment may involve any of the following depending on the specific problem or injury:
