Family Health and Sports Injury Clinic
Injury rehabilitation can involve spinal adjustments, combined with a program of stretching, resistance training, and exercises to improve muscle strength, flexibility and tone. Our doctors are trained to treat neuromuscular and skeletal injuries during the acute painful stages of recovery and after pain becomes alleviated when it becomes important to restore normal body functions.
Village Chiropractic will prescribe specific strengthening, flexibility and stabilizing exercises and stretches to promote patient recovery because we recognize that exercise is essential for a speedy recovery and to prevent future recurrence of an injury. Exercise has been scientifically shown to increase health by lowering cholesterol levels, strengthening the immune system, lowering body fat, increasing one's sense of well being, and increasing muscle strength, flexibility, tone and function and thereby improving range and precision of body motion.
Some patients receive a set of simple exercises or maneuvers they can do at home. Other types of injuries will require the use of specialized equipment to isolate and strengthen specific areas of the body. At Village Chiropractic our exercise therapy room has the facilities to incorporate exercise into an effective injury rehabilitation program.
Village Chiropractic welcomes students, faculty and staff from the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus, we're steps away on Kingston Rd. Check out our student fees which are covered 100% by your university health plan.
